A year or so ago, our friends at the Camden Rose collective set themselves a difficult task: to make a Waldorf doll, with all its characteristic old-fashioned charm and simple grace, at an affordable price and under ethical conditions. These 12" companions are the happy result of those intentions. Handcrafted by a group of hearing-disabled women who have joined Camden Rose's Fair Trade Peruvian initiative, each doll is made from all-natural fibers (100% clean, carded wool for the stuffing and 100% cotton for the skin, embroidery and clothing) and comes outfitted in a floral print dress, matching bloomers and removable headband. If your girl is looking for someone to "mother," these sweet-faced beauties would be welcome additions to the family. Plus you'll help spread some good to a neglected corner of the world.
